About the Artist, Naomi Hope
When did you start making mosaics?
I discovered mosaics on a family holiday to France when I was 9 years old. I kept finding bright colourful pieces of glass in the grounds of the holiday property and asked the owner about them. She told me she was a Mosaic Artist, took me to her workshop and taught me. It remains my favourite holiday after all these years! I rediscovered mosaics in 2024, through my volunteering at Elvaston Castle, when I attended a workshop to create some mosaic signs for the Nature Reserve. This experience evoked strong and powerful memories for me, alongside a feeling of connection through bringing together the broken pieces while I myself was rebuilding my life after brain surgery.
What inspires you?
The parallel between losing your identity and reshaping your life, with the broken fragments of glass forming something new, whole and beautiful, resonates deeply with me. I know that I am not alone in experiencing life's challenges, and by creating this art I want to share the beauty in broken pieces, embrace imperfection and evoke a sense of wholeness for you.
I am inspired by a lifelong love of animals, and create designs that focus on character and vibrance to bring them to life. I love light and sparkles, which glass offers in abundance. Creating art with iridescent and reflective glass tiles allows me to bring movement and energy to a piece, as the changing light throughout the day transforms the colours and perspective.
About the artwork
Where can I find your artwork?
Mosaics that have been created and are currently available to purchase are listed in my shop on my website. I am based in Derbyshire, UK and attend occasional art fairs and events around Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
To stay up to date with where to find me, you can follow me on Instagram and Facebook, and subscribe to my newsletter.
I like a piece that has sold out - can you make another?
Yes! Please get in touch if you spot a design in my sold gallery or on social media. I can make something similar for you, although every piece is unique so it won't be exactly the same!
How big are the mosaics?
Pieces range in size from 15cm to 30cm in diameter, with dimensions provided in individual product details.
How do I display my mosaic?
The mosaics come with a sawtooth hook on the back and are ready to hang on your wall. If you prefer to display them on a shelf, they will sit on a plate stand (not included).
For inspiration and ideas, take a look at my blog about styling a mosaic artwork in your home.
How do I care for my mosaic?
Mosaics are fragile by the nature of the materials used. Therefore, please handle the artwork with care.
The mosaics I make are designed to be statement pieces of art for your home and are suitable for indoor use only.
What materials do you use?
I use a mix of glass and ceramic tiles, especially mirror, sparkly and iridescent, carefully cut and arranged by hand onto wood.
Buying
What payment methods do you accept?
Through my website, you can use Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and all major debit and credit cards. In person, at events, you can pay with cash or card.
Can I return or exchange a mosaic?

What if my mosaic arrives damaged?

Mosaics are carefully wrapped using protective bubble wrap, and then beautifully wrapped in tissue paper. A 'FRAGILE' sticker is added to the box to ensure additional care is taken during delivery.
I use recycled packaging where possible, and I am always happy to think that you can make use of this yourself, to give new life to the packaging materials when you next send something!
Do you ship internationally beyond the listed countries?

Commissions
Can I commission a portrait of my pet?
Absolutely! Pet portraits are a joy to create and make a wonderful personal gift. I have created dozens of pet mosaics, including pieces to remember pets by. Please get in touch and we can discuss size, colours, and style.
How long does a custom commission take?
Custom pieces are made to order and typically take 4–6 weeks depending on complexity and my current workload. I'll give you a more specific timeline when we discuss your commission.
Do you require a deposit for commissions?
All commissions require a deposit of 50%, with the remaining 50% to be paid on completion, before posting. You will see photos and a video of the mosaic before I send it to you, unless you want it to be a surprise!
Can I order a mosaic to be delivered as a gift?
It is always a joy to create a special gift for someone, so yes of course I can send the mosaic directly to the recipient. All posted mosaics are wrapped and contain a handwritten note, free of charge, so this can be personalised with your own message to them and no price details included.
How do I place a commission order?
You can use the contact form to share your ideas — size, subject, colour palette — and I'll come back to you to discuss further.
Charity
How much is donated to brainstrust?
10% from the sale of every mosaic is donated to brainstrust. So that means a donation of £5 from a £50 mosaic or £6.50 from a £65 mosaic.
Why brainstrust?
Brainstrust helped put me back together again, so it is very fitting that my broken pieces of glass come together and help others access their support.
